Screw Pumps for Efficient Transfer of Liquids

Roto Pumps is a well-known industrial pump manufacturer and supplier.

A Screw Pump is a kind of a Positive Displacement Pump that operates with the help of one or more screws that help to carry the liquids through the pump.

A Single Screw Pump consists of a rotor fixed inside a cylindrical stator lined with rubber. The rotational action of the rotor inside the stator lifts the liquid into the pump and move it along the axis of the rotor. The rotors for these kinds of pumps are shaped like twisted round shafts. These kinds of pumps are ideal for non-pulsating metered flow. Whatever the nature of the transported liquid, the discharge of these pumps is precisely repeatable. They ensure silent running due to the movement of the rotor inside the rubber stator. These pumps can handle varied kinds of liquids- abrasive or non-abrasive, with or without solid elements. However, the power to run the pump is required to be increased when liquids with solid constituents need to be handled. These pumps are highly efficient and ensure high suction lift. They are also reversible and very easy to maintain. Some of the industries which use these pumps are shipping, cosmetics, steel manufacturing, etc.

The Twin Screw Pumps are double-ended pumps. They comprise of external timing gears, double screw spindles fixed inside a closed compartment, and a motor. These pumps operate by the rotation of the spindles inside the compartment. The screw spindles rotate in opposite directions, carrying the liquid axially through the gap between the casing of the compartment and the twin screws. These pumps are known to ensure high volumetric ability, and are mostly used for high power applications. They can be used to transfer varied kinds of liquids; irrespective of their viscosity and aggressiveness.
